  • What is Invisalign and how does it work at Village Orthodontics?

    Invisalign is a system of clear, removable aligners that gradually move your teeth into better alignment. At Village Orthodontics, treatment starts with an intraoral 3D scan or impressions of your teeth, then Dr. Freedman works with Invisalign software to design a custom, computer-generated 3D model of your ideal smile. A series of BPA-free plastic trays is created from that plan, and you switch to a new set of aligners every 1 to 2 weeks as your teeth move.

  • What orthodontic problems can Invisalign treat?

    Invisalign is very effective for many common orthodontic issues, including crowding, spacing or gaps, teeth that sit outside the normal alignment of the jaws, overbite where you cannot see the lower teeth, overjet where the upper front teeth stick out too far, and open bite where the front teeth do not touch. At your consultation, Dr. Freedman will let you know if Invisalign is a good option for your specific case.

  • Am I a candidate for Invisalign or are braces better for me?

    Many teens and adults are great candidates for Invisalign, especially if they want a more esthetic treatment option without braces. Invisalign is usually best for patients with fully erupted adult teeth, which often means age 13 and older. In some complex cases, braces or a combination of treatments may be recommended. Dr. Freedman will review your goals, bite, and X-rays, then explain whether Invisalign, braces, or another approach can give you the best long-term result.

  • How often do I need to wear my Invisalign aligners?

    For Invisalign to work properly, you should wear your aligners about 22 hours per day, removing them only to eat, drink anything other than water, brush, and floss. Consistent wear helps keep your teeth moving according to plan and can prevent treatment from taking longer than expected.

  • How long does Invisalign treatment usually take?

    The length of Invisalign treatment depends on how much movement is needed and the complexity of your bite. Some mild alignment issues can be corrected in a shorter time, while more involved cases will take longer. During your exam, Dr. Freedman will estimate your treatment time based on your digital scan and desired end result.

  • What is the Invisalign process like at Village Orthodontics?

    Your Invisalign journey begins with a complimentary consultation and 3D scan or impressions. Dr. Freedman then designs your treatment digitally and sends the plan to be fabricated into a series of clear aligners. Once your trays arrive, you will wear each set for about 1 to 2 weeks, returning for periodic checkups so we can monitor your progress and make adjustments if needed. At the end of treatment, we provide retainers to help maintain your new smile.

  • Is Invisalign comfortable?

    Invisalign trays are smooth, custom fitted, and designed not to irritate your cheeks or tongue the way some brackets and wires can. You may feel some pressure or mild soreness when you start a new set of aligners, which is a sign that your teeth are moving. Most patients find this is easy to manage and that Invisalign feels more comfortable than traditional braces.

  • How much does Invisalign cost and do you offer payment plans?

    The cost of Invisalign varies based on your treatment plan and the amount of movement needed. After your consultation, our treatment and financial coordinator will review the fee for your case, answer questions about insurance, and create an affordable, no interest payment plan for you. Village Orthodontics partners with most major PPO dental insurance carriers, accepts major credit cards and CareCredit, and offers discounts for patients who choose to pay for treatment up front.

  • Will my insurance cover Invisalign at Village Orthodontics?

    If your dental insurance includes orthodontic benefits, it often covers Invisalign similarly to braces, up to the lifetime orthodontic maximum in your policy. Our team will verify your benefits, file claims on your behalf, and help you understand how much of your Invisalign treatment is covered and what portion will be your responsibility.

  • What happens after I finish Invisalign treatment?

    Once your Invisalign treatment is complete and you and Dr. Freedman are happy with the final result, we will focus on retention so your teeth stay where we have moved them. This usually involves a combination of permanent retainers bonded behind the teeth when appropriate and removable clear retainers for night time wear.
